BDS ADMISSION POLICY & ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA-2023

(AS PER PMDC UNERGRADUATES EDUCATION REGULATION)

The Medical & Dental Council (PMDC) has approved the Policy & Criteria for admission in BDS.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Minimum 60% marks Intermediate Premedical from a recognized Pakistani Board / Equivalent (A Levels)

MDCAT EXAM 2023 PASSING PERCENTAGE

50% marks on the national MDCAT 2023 as per PMDC.

MERIT CALCULATION CRITERIA FOR THE ADMISSION

Merit will be determined as follows:

  • MDCAT (50%)
  • Fsc (Pre-Medical) / HSSC/Equivalent (40%) of total Marks
  • SSC/Matriculation/Equivalent (10%) of total Marks

OVERSEAS CANDIDATES (BDS)

Candidate must fulfill the following eligibility criteria:

  • Candidates who have studied last four years from outside Pakistan.
  • Matriculation, ‘0’ Level / equivalent examination from outside Pakistan.
  • Intermediate ‘A’ Level / Equivalent examination from outside Pakistan.
  • The candidate must have passed Biology, Chemistry and Physics/Mathematics or any other science subject in A level / Equivalent examination.
  • IBCC equivalence certificate with minimum 60% mark
  • Proof of being overseas Pakistani, or foreign national. There shall be no restriction of domicile or preference on any seat of any private medical or dental college.

LOCAL CANDIDATES (BDS)

Candidate must fulfill the following eligibility criteria:

  • Matriculation /0 level / equivalent examination certificate.
  • Intermediate Sciences / ‘A’ level / equivalent examination.
  • Minimum marks of 60% aggregate in intermediate science (premedical) / ‘A’ level/equivalent examination.
  • Candidate’s domicile certification
  • Candidate’s permanent residence certificate (PRC, on Form - C)
  • Candidate‘s CNIC (Computerized National Identity Card) or B form (if he / she is under 18 year of age).

  • Immediately after the announcement of MDCAT results, apply to PMC for admission for Private Medical & Dental Colleges within 15 days of the opening date for submission of applications.
  • List Liaquat College of Medicine & Dentistry, Karachi” as the college you wish to apply for the MBBB / BDS program
  • Check for your name on the National Merit List for Liaquat College of Medicine & Dentistry to be issued by the PMC.
  • Check Liaquat College of Medicine & Dentistry website / Admission Cell for the interview date
  • Attend Interview at Liaquat College of Medicine & Dentistry as per your scheduled date/time
  • Bring the following documents with you for the interview to fill the application form:
    • Copy HSC/FSc Marksheet (or IBCC equivalence)
    • Copy SSC Marksheet (or IBCC Equivalence)
    • Copy SSC Certificate (or IBCC Equivalence)
    • 4 color photos taken in the last 6 weeks
    • Copy candidate CNIC (or B-form if no CNIC)
    • Copy of father (or guardian) CNIC
  • The interview will be scored as follows and included as 20% in aggregate merit score:
  • Communication Skills (personal statement not more than 300 words to submitted at the time of interview ) – 40% Extra-Curricular Activity and Community work – 40% General Knowledge – 20%

  • You will be offered admission on the basis of merit after the Interview and will be given 3 working days to deposit the total First Year Fees to reserve your seat in LCMD
  • After depositing fees in the bank, you will be required to submit the following to the Admission Cell to confirm your admission:
    • Copy of Bank Receipt Fees Challan
    • Original HSC/FSc Marksheet (or IBCC equivalence)
    • Original SSC Marksheet (or IBCC Equivalence)
    • Original SSC Certificate (or IBCC Equivalence)

SCHOLARSHIP POLICY

Eligibility Criteria:



Merit

  • Shall be the student of the Liaquat College of Medicine & Dentistry.
  • For fresh candidates merit will be considered on the MDCAT result, Matric & Intermediate results.
  • For already enrolled students merit will be taken keeping in view the academic performance during the study year.
  • This will be given on annual basis for a period of one year which can carry forward/ renewal on the basis of satisfactory academic performance.
  • If the student does not perform satisfactory in academics the facility will be withdrawn.

Need Based

  • Orphan Students whose guardians could not afford the fee.
  • Parents with low income group will be assessed on the following criteria i.e.
    • Living in Rented / owner ship property.
    • Utility bills.
    • Number of dependants.
    • Siblings in the college one will be given scholarship.

Extracurricular Activities

  • Hafiz-e-Quran.
  • Outstanding in extracurricular activities (documentary evidence mandatory).
  • Good communication skills and leadership quality assessed by the scholarship committee.

Parents Employment Status

  • Teaching Employees Govt. or Private Institute.
  • Teaching faculty with 10 years and more experience.
    • Recommendation from Head of Institution or Hospital.
  • Defense Personnel.
    • Recommendation from the Authorize personnel.

From all the above categories the scholarship award will be selected and offered to Five% students. If any other special case arrive that will be adjust in the above Quota
