Fellowship of the College of Physicians and Surgeons
Liaquat College of Medicine and Dentistry (LCMD) offers 4- YEARS fellowship program which
follows guidelines provided by College of Physician and Surgeons Pakistan
(CPSP).
LCMD, DSH &Qamar Dental Hospital are recognized by CPSP for conducting fellowship
programs
in the disciplines of Oral &Maxillofacial Surgery (OMFS), Orthodontics, Medicine and
Surgery.
The Dental programs run under the supervision of Prof.Dr.Navid Rashid Qureshi, Prof .Dr
Attiya Shaikh & program coordinator Dr.Tahera Ayub whose able leadership and mentoring
have
carved the training standards keeping in view the standards of quality followed at the
international helm of education and have established a liaison with the renowned
clinicians
of the country to provide the utmost health care facilities to the patients through our
own
state of art Dental Hospital and the affiliated teaching hospitals.
Around 26 trainee in OMFS and 05 in Orthodontics have been inducted since then and many
of
them are now working in the state of the art institute at national and international
level.
The FCPS Medicine is 4 years training program recognized by the CPSP since 2013. The
Medicine program is running under the supervision of Prof.Dr.Abu Noem Faroqui,
Prof.Dr.Asif
Qureshi & Prof.Dr.Arif and Dr.Syed Ahmed. The training is co ordinate and directed by
Dr.Shahid Ahmed. There are around 17 FCPS part II trainee in medicine & surgery. The
whole
program is under supervision of Dr.Rashid Naseem Khan. Main responsibilities are to take
care of in and out patients’ service, regular weekly teaching sessions for research
activities, mobility & mortality meetings and case discussions.
The FCPS Surgery is 4 year training program with 2 year basic training in surgery. The
program is running under the supervision of Prof.Dr.Asif Qureshi and Prof.Muhammad Arif.
The
training is co ordinate and directed by Dr. Shahid Ahmed.We have 4 trainees who will
complete the scheduled 4 years training program. Main responsibilities are to take care
of
in and out patients, assists surgeries and do minor surgical procedures
independently.
